The Dishes are Done.

Eva Mah was recently interviewed on one of her least favorite pastimes. Doing dishes.

Said Eva, "I can't help but eat and then just put the dishes in the sink. They pile up and eventually I'll be so embarrassed that I will do them. I know it would be easier to do them as I go, but I let it pile up. It sucks."

Eva's advice- Do the dishes when the dishes need doing. Don't wait so long. When the dishes are done... you'll feel much better. Life will look a bit brighter and you will smile.

Love,
Eva

We've Got Egg On Our Face.

I am sometimes prone to getting blackheads. Now, I know this isn't a subject that is usually brought up in polite company but I'm not really here for polite company. I youtube'd black head removal and found this video. So I tried it. 1 egg white and toilet paper. Anne and I decided to have some girl time and try this out.

Anne wears glasses normally. And she wore them today. Too bad you need to see to do this.

It was my second attempt and I got all sorts of things pulled out of my skin. So delightful and gross.

Try it. Its effing rad.

Love,
Eva and Anne.

UPDATE: Don't do it around your sensitive skin area like the eye. I broke out with a little rash afterward. Its going away, but my skin wasn't too happy around the eyes. Everything else was alright though.

New Years Traditions

I have a tradition that I started about 5 years ago. The first grocery shopping I do of the New Year, I get whatever I want pretty much. I don't worry about the price, I get all the food I feel like (within). Usually its not more than about 150 bucks. Sometimes this poses a problem as sometimes at the New Year, I am wiped out from Xmas and traveling or maybe just kinda broke. But its a wish/hope/idea/postulate for the New Year of prosperity and a full belly. Start the New Year with abundance. Right now I have an abundance of food, which being a bit of a foodie, makes me VERY happy.

I think I have some other traditions that have just become part of my existence to the point of they are just how I am... I dunno. But they're fun. Traditions are started because something is enjoyable or a successful action, so one continues to do it at a certain point or the calendar. Cultures have these, religion has these, familes have 'em too.

What are some of yours?

AZ "Camping Trip": Day 2

Our second day started with the first day.

First we slept on the most uncomfortable bed, both tossing and turning until we had gotten a good hourage (that should be a word, even though its not) and then got up, had continental breakfast at the hotel. They had a Belgian Waffle maker, so we chowed down on that and some hard boiled eggs before leaving.

At this point its about 32 degrees. Which is much colder than I am used to. But somehow have fallen in like with snow, so it's actually enjoyable. Drive from Flagstaff to Williams, AZ and check into our next Mariott, which is also having their continental breakfast. Tim opts for his second breakfast, I opt to stay in our room and try to doze off before our train ride to the Grand Canyon.

We go to the train depot where we have a "Wild West" show before boarding the vintage train. We ride 2.5 hours at 40 mph to the Grand Canyon and on the way we saw wild cows, and snow. It was actually pretty great!

The Grand Canyon was amazing. I'm glad I was dressed warmly. It snowed and Tim was throwing snowballs at me.

AZ "Camping Trip": Day 1, pt 2

I felt like this next subject needed an entry of its own.

Pancakes!!!

We stopped at the 4 Bees Cafe today. Where it feels like you are walking into someone's kitchen and ordering food. While the picture isn't from there, the pancakes are certainly that big. Every one of them. We had this lovely, portly, spritely redheaded girl serving us. She was so awesome I wanted to take her back to LA and employ her, if I had the money to do so. Anyway, going there is like meeting people that you are distantly related to. Everyone will talk to you. Virgins often order the "Short Stack." Which is three of those bad boys seen above. Tim ordered one for us to share and we each got the 4 bees breakfast (eggs, hash-brown, toast). It was so good. What a great little place. If you're ever in Black Canyon City, go there. I promise you won't be disappointed.

AZ "Camping Trip": Day 1

Today we left Tim's sister's house in Gilbert, AZ (which is by Phoenix <-- for people like moi) literally before the sun came over the hill (I think 7:45). And then we drove to Sedona. Incase you don't know what is so special about this place, I'll tell you. The Earth is RED there. RED!!!! Its amazing. Seriously, quite breathtaking. I've never seen so many churches in such a small place.

We played in the snow and made a Hello Kittie Snowman in Flagstaff. Its has a ton of snow up here since we are up at 6000 feet. I thought it would be in the middle of no where but there are stores and people and even traffic!!

Tim is sneaky...

I am hiding...

The Great Hype.

I love holidays- especially Christmas with my fam. So in this post, I am not talking about Christmas or even Thanksgiving.

I am talking about New Years Eves or Labor Days or Memorial Days. Even friggin' Halloween and Fourth of July. What about St. Patrick's Day? or Cinco de Mayo? Those aren't even my heritage. But somehow I feel like a party pooper for not getting waste and acting debauchery embodied. Don't get me wrong about Halloween though, I love dressing up just as much as the next fellow, but I choose to dress up all year round. See picture above (my costume was worn to a Christmas party). But these days listed above are days I feel forced to celebrate or party. What if I don't feel like partying? What if I would rather be home in my robe with my boyfriend playing darts and having a silly dance party in the living room by myself?

Basically, I feel these couple days are overrated and I hate feeling forced to be in the party mood. I did go out last night for New Year's Eve to a nice restaurant with some of the BF's friends. It was very nice. Good food, good wine. But somehow it just doesn't compare to being in pjs with good friends or playing wii sports with someone's sister.

I like starting the New Year with a bang toward being fruitful and prosperous. Maybe its the Chinese in me. But I think its a good time to turn over a new leaf if the leaf needs turning or maybe just giving it a good sweep if it doesn't need to be turned.

Some one once told me, the first 12 days of the year will represent the 12 months of the coming year so get going on those days!! Me? I'm going camping with my boyfriend to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Pretty good start, eh?
